Week 7

Room 17 have had a great week discussing music. We have listened to different styles and shared our favourite songs. Over the next week we are looking at manners. Ask your Mum,Dad or Grandparents about manners when they were your age and bring this to share with the class.
We are entering our daily steps(using our pedometers) into the soccer website and travelling around South Africa on the web. If you want to look at home go to www.mygreatestfeat.org.nz and put in your own name and password(these are in your homework books).

Week 4

This week Room 17 will be interviewing Isaak's Grandma Annette, who has been in Queenstown for 40 years. We have written our own questions and will record these and her answers to send to the Arrowtown museum. This is part of the Arrowtown Museum's "Speaking of Change Exhibition" which will be showing in July. If you or your family have anything that would be of interest to do with this topic, we would love to hear or see items that may help us learn more about life in the Wakatipu 40-60 years ago.
News this week is sharing something from the last 100 years. It can be from anywhere in the world and on any topic.
Homework is a maths sheet, spelling words and reading each night.
Don't forget your Relating to Others tasks and our homework blog page.

Kahura Dance Group

The Kahura Dance Group performed for our school on Tuesday. They showed through music and dance the journey of the Maori people through the Pacific Islands to New Zealand. See if you can explain to your families which Pacific Island each of these costumes comes from.

Week 3

Week 3 homework is maths, working on our doubles and spelling words from our Essentials List Test.
Your news is of your own choice this week.
Next week you will need to speak about something in the last 100 years. It may be to do with toys, sport, school, houses, transport or another part of life.
If your family have any photos (holiday photos) or things of interest from the Wakatipu area over the last 60 years we would love to see them.
